Well, it took ya long enough!?! Finally we get some decent weather and guess what? I'm sick and stuck in bed for all of it!!!! Yep, been in bed pretty much the better part of the past 3 days and it couldn't have come at a worse time. Things are slammin' at work and I've got loads of crap to get done around the apartment. Not to mention it's gonna be another busy gig season this Easter.....and....a few other things lined up for May. *whew*

I finally sold my flight case for a tuba that I got rid of about 18 months ago. It's got a happy new home in NC with a fabulous tuba player (Matt, thanks again for the CD!) and should get some real use out of it now. Plus I'm trying to unload a few tuba mouthpieces that I'm just honestly not going to play ever again....spring cleaning!!!!

Speaking of which, tomorrow will be some spring cleaning over at Casa de Wirt. Got some branches to cut down, bushes to cut back, pine needles to move, a pond filter to clean, and a hot tub to drain. Oh yes, it's time for some hot tubbin'!!!!

Lost about 10lbs last week. I'm not kidding myself....being sick is a GREAT way to drop water weight. Time to get back on the bike now that I'm feeling a little better. Maybe I'll have some time by next Fri after I get my work done this week.

This was definitely a good weekend. In fact, it's been a pretty good week of hanging with friends. I can say that I've never been lacking in the 'friends' department....very lucky there!

So yeah, last night we did the standard 'drink some beers, play some Guitar Hero' mixed in with some other drinking games and good friends = good times! And had some tasty cake as well:

Guess when you're over 30, you just have to be thankful to be alive, yeah? And yes, those ARE huge chunks of cookie dough on top.....mmmmm....

Back to the grind...

This weekend has proven to be an extremely fun one. Last night, we threw down here at The 5-1-6. Many good friends were in attendance as well as a few new faces. I honestly can now say that I've played Beer Pong and succeeded handsomely at it for quite some time with my partner-in-crime, Dave. There was also many songs strummed out on Guitar Hero as well as a surprise when I decided to, shall we say, 'cut a hole in a box'?

Anyway, today was a little rough to start out after the reindeer games of last night. And then I was off for a 1:00 tipoff at the Cassell for VT vs. Clemson........and no, not as a mere spectator. No, this time--I played in the band!!!

Yes, me and Kos ended up getting recruited to fill out the section in what proved to be a not-so-triumphent return to glory from the 1996 season. Alas, VT lost to poor officiating....once again. It was fun to have a go on the old sousaphone again after many years. Although I must admit that after years of NOT dancing around with one of those things, I'm in a great deal of pain tonight!! Just don't bounce back like we did in the old days....
